    It did not take very long for businesses to realize that through the Internet they could promote their products and services. Many internet marketing strategies were developed for that purpose. One such strategy is Search Engine Marketing and its aim is to increase a website's visibility and improve the quality and the quantity of the traffic. SEM is divided into Search Engine Optimization and Pay Per Click advertising. Search Engine Optimization refers to optimally improving the website for search engines. From the Other Hand Pay Per Click is the practice of paying the search engine provider each time a user clicks on the ad. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Both of them are used by businesses in order to gain visibility. As they are considered a necessity for the modern world it is really easy to forget that the specific industry is just a couple of decades old. In the first part of the current diploma thesis the main goal is to analyze Search Engine Optimization. How search engines do work is analyzed and a situation of the current situation when it comes to search engines market share is mentioned. Additionally a reference to internet marketing, SEM and Google’s algorithms, it’s ranking factors and ethics in the industry is made. The so-called On Page, Off Page and Technical SEO techniques are showcased and described in detail. As for the second part, an application of the above mentioned techniques is showcased on real businesses according to each case’s needs

    This thesis has as a scope the use of the Internet of Things (IoT), so as to provide a detailed support for all fields of education STEM (Science,Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). The intention through this research to begin with, is to approach the term “Internet of Things” and how it can be combined with the education STEM. Moreover, there will be an attempt to answer some research questions, such as whether and to what extent the educational procedure can be improved and what the students' reaction may be. The reason for choosing and dealing with this the subject, is on the one hand, the rapid and continuous development of information technologies and generally the field of informatics and on the other hand, the changes that have occured in the educational process. Observing the massive use of information technologies and the emerging sector of the Internet of Things and simultaneously the radical changes in education, the idea of ​​using IoT Technologies in Secondary Education was created. Regarding the methodology, the experiments will be implemented first. During the experiments, microprocessors will be used, specifically the Arduino and some sensors. At the end of the implementation of those experiments, a series of online courses will take place, in order to present them to the students of Secondary Education. In a nutshell, by using both quantitative research and more specifically, by creating and distributing questionnaires to students, as well as qualitative research by asking children questions during the lessons, it will be possible to monitor students' participation, reactions and perceptions.

    Analysis of multidimensional patient data with cardiovascular diseases through medi- cal image processing, modelinf, and machine learning techniques

    Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of mortality globally, driving the need for improved diagnostic and predictive tools. This thesis integrates computational fluid dynamics (CFD), radiomic analysis, and automated segmentation techniques with ad- vanced imaging modalities to enhance the assessment of coronary artery disease (CAD) and systemic vascular conditions. Endothelial shear stress (ESS), calculated through CFD models based on coronary com- puted tomography angiography (CCTA), is evaluated in relation to stenosis severity, plaque volume and myocardial perfusion. The research explores how variations in ESS correlate with functional changes in myocardial perfusion, as measured by positron emission tomography (PET). These findings provide insights into the role of hemody- namic forces in CAD and underscore the potential of ESS as a diagnostic marker. Radiomic analysis is applied to CCTA-derived plaque features to extract biomarkers predictive of myocardial perfusion abnormalities. The integration of these biomarkers with PET and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) data signifi- cantly enhances diagnostic accuracy compared to traditional imaging metrics. This ap- proach highlights the utility of radiomics in non-invasive CAD risk stratification. Additionally, the thesis develops automated segmentation methods for analyzing the aorta in PET/CT imaging, enabling precise and reproducible assessment of metabolic activity in large-vessel vasculitis. These techniques improve workflow efficiency and provide new tools for evaluating systemic inflammatory conditions. By combining ESS analysis, radiomic biomarkers, and automated segmentation, this thesis establishes a comprehensive framework for non-invasive cardiovascular diag- nostics. The findings contribute to advancing patient-specific risk assessment and man- agement strategies, with significant implications for clinical practice.

    Amidst the growing interest in AI-driven language models and their extensive application in translation tasks, this Master's Thesis seeks to provide empirical insights into ChatGPT’s efficacy as a machine translation tool specifically for the Greek language, a low-resource language. Furthermore, this research explores the potential optimization of the model’s translation capabilities through the implementation of various prompting strategies. The evaluation framework employed in this study involves a multifaceted approach, combining human evaluation and automatic evaluation metrics across diverse text domains. The primary objectives of this study are to assess the machine translation capabilities of ChatGPT, identify optimal prompting strategies that enhance the quality of the model’s translation outputs and evaluate its potential for professional utilization within the translation industry.

    The aim of this thesis is to create an online application following the Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern in two modern frameworks, Angular and React, highlighting the development approaches and differences in operation for the aforementioned application. The purpose is to present the advantages of the MVC pattern usage and explain how to create and connect the individual functions, as well as to present the benefits it offers in development of web applications. To achieve the above goal in a practical programming environment, we have built a sample Single Page Application in each of the frameworks tested, an application that manages data of students like student details and the title of their thesis. We have implemented the data management functions, user interfaces and the interconnection between them as well. Each framework has a different logic for the design and code execution and requires a different style of programming, but following in both cases the MVC pattern the codebase of an application can be easily maintained and expanded

    Obesity is a serious condition characterized by the excessive accumulation of fat in the body, which can lead to health risks such as an increased likelihood of cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and other chronic illnesses. Combating obesity may involve various diets and treatments, some of the most well-known of which include the following: The Mediterranean diet is based on the traditional eating habits of Mediterranean populations, emphasizing the consumption of olive oil, fruits, vegetables, fish, and nuts. It is considered one of the healthiest diets and can reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems and obesity. The Ketogenic diet aims to put the body in a state of ketosis, where it burns fat instead of carbohydrates for energy. This diet is high in fats, moderate in protein, and very low in carbohydrates. Although it can aid in weight loss, it may cause side effects like fatigue and digestive discomfort. The Atkins diet, similar to the Ketogenic diet, focuses on high protein and fat intake while limiting carbohydrates to control blood sugar and support weight loss. Vegetarianism excludes animal products and promotes a plant-based diet. Vegans avoid all animal-derived products, while vegetarians may include dairy and eggs. Both diets are linked to a reduced risk of heart disease and obesity, though careful planning is needed to prevent nutrient deficiencies. The Dukan diet is a high-protein diet that follows several stages, starting with a strict restriction of carbohydrates. Weight loss tends to be rapid in the early stages, but it can lead to nutrient deficiencies and fatigue. The Paleolithic (Paleo) diet, inspired by the diet of prehistoric humans, includes meat, fish, fruits, and vegetables, avoiding processed foods and carbohydrates. While it emphasizes natural foods, its restrictions can make it challenging to maintain. Intermittent fasting is a dietary method that alternates between eating and fasting periods, often with a 16-hour fast followed by an 8-hour eating window. This approach has been associated with weight loss, improved metabolic health, and increased longevity. The Hay diet promotes separated food consumption by eating proteins and carbohydrates at different meals to aid digestion and weight control. However, its effectiveness is not fully scientifically validated. Lastly, although not strictly a diet, medications for diabetes, like GLP-1, are sometimes used to regulate blood glucose levels and may also support weight loss, particularly for individuals with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.

    Η παρούσα εργασία επιχειρεί να εξετάσει και να κατανοήσει την Μουσική Παραγωγή της Κούβας, μέσα από τη μελέτη των μουσικών οργάνων της Χώρας, της εξέλιξής τους και τη σχέση και σύνδεση αυτών με την Κοινωνική και Θρησκευτική παράδοση του νησιού. Η δομή της Εργασίας ακολουθεί την ταξινόμηση των μουσικών οργάνων, κατά το σύστημα Χορνμπόστελ-Σάκς. Έτσι, σε κάθε κεφάλαιο, εξετάζονται τα μουσικά όργανα της Κούβας,- ιδιόφωνα, μεμβρανόφωνα, χορδόφωνα, αερόφωνα-, και καθ΄αυτόν τον τρόπο παρουσιάζονται τα μουσικά είδη που συνδέονται με κάθε μουσικό όργανο, καθώς και παρατίθενται πληροφορίες για τη χώρα, τη σχέση και σύνδεση της μουσικής δραστηριότητας με την κοινωνική και θρησκευτική ζωή και της δραστηριότητες και έθιμα αυτών. Η εργασία αναφέρει και ηχητικά ντοκουμέντα ως παραδείγματα, για τα οποία αναγράφονται πηγές, καθώς και φωτογραφικό και εικονιστικό υλικό.
