This is the thesis of Gerina Chatzi, an undergraduate student of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpretation of the Ionian University. It is composed of two articles of the German Criminal Code, which consist of paragraphs discussing offences against marital status, marriage and family, as well as offences against sexual self-determination. The selection of the two articles of the German Criminal Code was made after taking into account the increased number of crimes within family circle and specifically femicides in Greece and around the world, as well as due to the offences committed daily against minors, either by their family or by third parties, as well as the incidents of exploitation in the field of sex work and finally due to the need to normalize and integrate the concept of free sexual self-determination in the Greek society. Regarding the communicative context, it is noted that this is a translation from German to Greek whixh is followed by a commentary based on Christiane Nord's functional approach. The aim (scopos) is to highlight the similarities and differences between the two cultures in the legal, cultural and social context through the commentary and translation process. Following are the original articles as well as their translations, commentary and bibliography accordingly.

For my thesis ,I chose a legal translation from German to Greek. The subject of my thesis was the Second World War and specifically the trial that followed immediately after the war, known as the Nuremberg Trials. It's about excerpts from the Nuremberg Trials. It focuses on both oral testimonies and specific recorded historical events. It mainly concerns the population of the then Soviet Union, whom the German soldiers also captured, brutally tortured and finally killed. I have attempted to translate these historical events as well as the testimonies in an attempt to shed light on the brutality of the events. It also mentions in writing a multitude of legislations, which circumvented every human right, but, unfortunately, were applied to the civilian population.

Heiliger Nektarios: Das Thema der vorliegenden Studie ging aus anderen allgemeineren Studien hervor, mit denen ich mich seit vielen Jahren beschäftige. Das Thema meiner Studien waren die griechischen Schriftsteller. Ich begann hauptsächlich aufgrund eines glühenden Wunsches alles zu sammeln, was sie auch immer Richtiges in Bezug auf Gott, die Seele und die Tugend darstellten und alle weisen Ansichten aller weisen Griechen in einen Band zurückzulegen, sodass die Erforscher aus diesen lernen können. Von dieser Studie und der Einordnung des Inhaltes ließ ich mich überzeugen, dass die griechischen Weisen entweder völlig oder teilweise Lehrer der Wahrheit waren, dass sie sie liebten und sich leidenschaftlich nach ihr sehnten und dass sie eine erotische Liebe für die Erkenntnis der Wahrheit zur wahren Philosophie führte. Diese Liebe führte allmählich die griechische Nation zur klarsten und eindeutigsten Erkenntnis der Wahrheit letztendlich zur Wahrheit durch Offenbarung, nämlich das Christentum.
