Abstract
This is the thesis of Gerina Chatzi, an undergraduate student of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpretation of the Ionian University. It is composed of two articles of the German Criminal Code, which consist of paragraphs discussing offences against marital status, marriage and family, as well as offences against sexual self-determination. The selection of the two articles of the German Criminal Code was made after taking into account the increased number of crimes within family circle and specifically femicides in Greece and around the world, as well as due to the offences committed daily against minors, either by their family or by third parties, as well as the incidents of exploitation in the field of sex work and finally due to the need to normalize and integrate the concept of free sexual self-determination in the Greek society. Regarding the communicative context, it is noted that this is a translation from German to Greek whixh is followed by a commentary based on Christiane Nord's functional approach. The aim (scopos) is to highlight the similarities and differences between the two cultures in the legal, cultural and social context through the commentary and translation process. Following are the original articles as well as their translations, commentary and bibliography accordingly.
