Abstract
A university festival and especially of a university of arts is a difficult organization because of its particularities. University festivals are usually festivals with almost zero budget and minimal staff, despite the amount of events. The Audiovisual Arts Festival of Department of Audio and Visual Arts of Ionian University, is a festival based on sponsors and volunteers. The success of a university festival, similar to any other festival type, in linked to its advertising promotion. This is done through promotional materials such as posters, logo, program, banner, press releases, social media and media advertisements, etc. The promotion of Audiovisual Arts Festival relies on posters, banners, advertising spots, press releases and newsletters and in advertising by sponsors. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the advertising principles of a university festival in general and Audiovisual Arts Festival, in particular, and based on this research to submit a promotional proposal for a future festival. The theme of the thesis is topical because the festival is in a time of change and gradual communication evolution. All the above proceed from a bibliographic research on cultural marketing, case studies of academic festivals and study the case of Audiovisual Arts Festival of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University.
