Abstract
The blue crab, Callinectes sapidus Rathbun has been the subject of scientific research for over 100 years. This crab is a key player in shallow coastal environments and supports a great commercial interest in the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. Much of the research that has been done is on its biology, life, development and natural history. What is of particular interest to most researchers is its migratory cycle, which is inextricably intertwined with its reproductive system.
Also a significant factor in the study is the place he prefers and resides as well as his behavior towards other species in the same space. It plays an important role in the ecosystem with respect to other populations from which it feeds and is a threat because it is rapidly multiplying.
In this context, the problem of its direct management is a necessity in order to mitigate this negative phenomenon and to find an appropriate way of dealing with it. The solution to this problem is given by the LORES simulation tool, because it enables us to study its evolution and spread in space and time, and we can make a secure prediction of its future population growth and dissipation. This will provide the knowledge necessary to implement the appropriate management plan at the Region level.
