Abstract
The present dissertation seeks to describe the experience I gained during a work placement at Claudia Heigel’s translation agency in Kavala. More specifically, the profile of the translation agency is provided, the procedure followed and the workflow implemented are outlined, while the texts processed and the difficulties encountered during their translation are analyzed and critically discussed. Overall, the transition from the theory taught during the postgraduate program attended to the actual work practice is presented, along with the difficulties encountered and the concerns raised during this transition. A portfolio of sources texts of at least 5.000 words and their translations is also provided.
