Abstract
Nowadays, the technologies for tracking and automatically recording data and behaviors of Internet users are greatly increasing. Many of these are known, like cookies in a browser. However, with the advancement of technological knowledge (e.g. programming), more complex systems are being developed, such as email trackers which are used to automatically collect data from emails (e.g. message reading time, message reading location, etc.). The current thesis aims to disclose most of these tracking systems to the Internet users. Knowing them, organizations and companies can optimize their promotion methods and advertising strategies and promote their products and services. In addition, Internet users will be aware of what is happening on the internet and can be protected from unwanted collections and edits of their personal data. In fact, countermeasures for these systems will also be announced. Moreover, the various forms and functions of these technologies will be known. Depending on what has been implemented, what has not been implemented and what needs further improvement, new ideas can be given to create new technologies. Finally, it is noted that the current study on those systems will be done from the point of view of the technological background and the science of Information Technology. They will not be researched in terms of interests of organizations and companies, from a privacy impact or any other perspective.
