Abstract
This research is an attempt to analyze technical but mainly utilitarian-play a basic part of the drum set, hi-hat. We are investigating its history in time and its evolution to date, its technical parts, and how they ended up today to facilitate the musical drummer but also to develop his creativity without making it difficult. But the most important thing that has been done in this research is that it has attempted to decode it in terms of playing with any innovative efforts made by key representatives of jazz music, as exemplified by Papa Jo Jones, Tony Williams and Max Roach. Through specific transcripts, examples were given by our analysis, and then we followed specific exercises to help the apprentice drummer understand and manage to play what his predecessors played.
