Abstract
This Thesis consists of the translation of five chapters from the book “A Game without limits” by the Greek author Christos Sotirakopoulos. It includes excerpts from the book, as well as a thorough analysis of all the technical difficulties a translator must commonly face when translating a literary piece. Moreover, some theoretical fundamentals concerning translation overall will be presented so as to assist the reader in comprehending not only the process but also the translation itself. The purpose of this thesis is to point out all the obstacles and deadlocks a translator must overcome, in order to complete a literary translation, which observes how certain historical events are observed through the spectrum of the most famous sport in the world: football. Finally, the thesis will provide conclusions concerning the assorted difficulties dealt with in the process of structuring this assignment, as well as possible solutions to these issues.
