Abstract
In recent decades, the rapid growth and spread of new technologies at a global level, economic and social developments have influenced not only the everyday life and work of individuals, organizations and businesses, but also were a supportive factor in the learning process. The gradual change towards an open way of thinking and learning and the necessary shift from the Society of Information to the Society of Knowledge and Learning has also influenced the field of education and the methodology of teaching and led to new forms of education so that the modern man, uses the new media of technology as an educational tool, to be in a more advantageous position and to be able to successfully meet the new challenges and demands of everyday life. Various financial and work demands and needs have led, in particular, to a number of educational organizations and establishing a way of distance learning. Due to the increased needs of learners, physical presence in the field of education becomes difficult or impossible. One type of training is e-learning, categorized into two types: synchronous or asynchronous. In the context of asynchronous e-learning, which is the subject of this work, new technological means are used. This work focuses on e-learning, context of asynchronous e-learning are presented and their applications, their advantages and their disadvantages are examined.
