Abstract
Effective communication is vital to the operation of museums and a well-designed communication policy plays a key role in reaching the public. The purpose of this Master's thesis, entitled "Museum Communication Policy in the Perspective of a Sociolinguistic Approach", is to delve into the formulation and implementation of museum communication policy, with an emphasis on the use of Sociolinguistics. By examining the complex interplay between language, communication and social factors in the museum environment, the paper aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of how Sociolinguistics can be effectively applied to enhance museum communication methods. To this end, a comprehensive research conducted for the first time is presented, which aims to document the effectiveness of the communication policy of the Ionian University Museum, to demonstrate the communication strategies that need to be changed and/or adopted and to enhance the two-way communication relationship between the Museum, its visitors and the local community.
