Abstract
The purpose of the present thesis is to discuss the annotated translation of the dramatic play "Der junge Gelehrte", the first comedy by the German author and representative of the Enlightenment, Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, into the Greek language. A large volume of translation difficulties was identified and recorded throughout the translation process and the final translation options were interpreted. The purpose of the present is also to acquaint the reader with the political, social and artistic circumstances under which the author in question acted, as well as with the dramatic genre of comedy in the German-speaking world during the 18th century.
