Abstract
The study of the discourse and ideological identity of political parties is certainly nothing new. This paper, however, attempts to go a step further and examine the ideological identity of the Greek political parties that represent us in the European Parliament and the ideological identity of the respective political groups to which they belong. In order to achieve this, the ideological discourse of all parties and political groups, as presented through founding declarations, constitutions or other means, first is analyzed individually and then comparatively. In order to ensure the directness of the messages and to avoid distortion of the discourse, all data are taken exclusively from their official websites. The analysis of each political party and political group includes: - A brief presentation and commentary of the website, from the perspective of the ordinary citizen-voter, to show the message and style that comes out of the projected image. - Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the ideological discourse with the help of AntConc software, presenting tables of the frequency of word usage and searching for "key" or "key" words, to show where the discourse of each party and group focuses. - Presentation of results - conclusions for each party and group where, among other things, a comparative analysis of the party and its political group is made. The research concludes with the presentation of general conclusions and recommendations to allow the reader to reflect and develop critical analysis.
