Abstract
The purpose of this Thesis is the Study, Design and creation of a Hybrid board game. It will be implemented using the Internet of Things (IoT) to connect tangible data to digital and enhance interactivity with the player. It is known that in recent years there is a constant phenomenon of digitalization in our lives. Increasingly, modern board games are integrating digital applications and tools to deliver content in innovative ways. In this thesis we will use the techniques and tools that help this phenomenon not to replace the tangible with the digital, but to enhance it with digital elements for a different interactive experience. With the help of IoT the goal is to implement a hybrid board game prototype. The board game will use arduino and sensors, which will be connected to an application. The board game will combine a mobile game gameplay with traditional board game gameplay. It will use arduino and sensors, which will be connected to an application. The implementation was done in three parts and due to time and challenges that arose they were not united in a single prototype. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology was used and the initial test of RFID for pawn identification in the board game was implemented. At the same time, the wifi module was tested on the arduino. Finally, the basic elements of the application were implemented designed with Framer, but also part of the application was implemented with flutter. The result was an understanding of the elements behind the creation of both traditional board games and hybrid board games and the study of technologies with the need to turn a board game into a hybrid.
