Abstract
This paper has Audio Books as its main field of application, and Audio Book
Music & Sound Design as its main subject. First, the techniques of narration, sound
design and sound description are analyzed. Then, additional techniques that were
studied for utilizing the sound design of an audio book are mentioned. Consequently, principles of soundscape synthesis along with techniques including foley, sound
design, audio film and the phenomenon of vococentrism are mentioned. Finally, the
compositional stages for the current work, mainly the music and sound design of the
six first chapters from the children’s book “ Το Πιατο” (The Dish) by Ms Konstantina
Tassopoulou, are described.
