Abstract
This thesis explores the field of experimental animation and its ability to depict the complex aspects of routine through practices found in poetry. It is considered essentially an animated visualised poem with the main and fundamental aim of producing powerful pictorial - visual compositions and sequences to convey both objective and subjective meanings regarding the idea of routine. Because it is so commonplace, routine, a basic component of human existence, is often overlooked. This study uses experimental animation as a creative medium to shed light on routine. The film provides a framework for exploring various aspects of routine, including its psychological and emotional implications. The study begins with an examination of experimental animation and its application to art, the connection between poetry and animation, and finally routine using theories of psychology, and aesthetic interpretations. The animation production process is described in detail, emphasising the choices made regarding animation style, visual appeal and narrative elements to successfully capture the essence and complexity of the routine.
The film uses figurative symbolism, atmospheric electronic soundtracks and distorted graphics to provide the audience with a holistic experience.The film aims to break the monotony of routine and encourage viewers to reflect on their own daily rituals through the careful manipulation of animated elements.
