Abstract
The current dissertation attempts to approach the issue of propaganda through the example of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, focusing on political speech in conjunction with some elements of the work of Niccolo Machiavelli, namely "Il Principea" (The Prince). In essence, the aim is to link Erdogan's political speech to that of the "Leader." In the first chapter we will focus on the concepts of Political speech, Propaganda, and Psychological Influence and of course the relationship between Persuasion and Political Speech that forms the basis of Propaganda, although they have different aims. The second chapter provides a historical overview of the operations of psychological influence, with Propaganda as a key point of reference, with special reference to the contribution of France. Propaganda, in turn, is a key element of Psychological Influence. The third chapter will mention some elements from the work of Niccolo Machiavelli "The Leader" but also what were the influences of the author that led him to write the aforementioned work, a textbook of the exercise of political power. In the fourth and final chapter we will focus on Tayyip Erdogan, trying to trace evidence of the Machiavellian practice of power.
