Abstract
Jazz is considered to be a very important music genre worldwide, while Swing as a genre
of Jazz, including great music production, dance ensembles and artists, shocked America
and the whole world. This paper refers to the benefits of being involved with music and
in particular with Swing, as well as to the birth and history of Swing. In the second part,
a project is described, which included the teaching of Swing choral songs and of a Lindy
Hop choreography. The purpose of the project was to teach this music genre (singing
and dancing) in a group of people, that have not been involved with it before, as well as
the performance of these songs and the dance, which would be taped.
