Abstract
The present work covers the issue of the deuteros echos as it is reflected in the theories of the time from 1814 to 1881. This time frame is identified with two important periods of Greek church music which are the reform of 1814 and its establishment Music Committee of 1881.
The research question of the work is presented on the basis of three main axes of musicological research: a) with the theoretical reflection and consequently the substantiated point of view, b) with the comparative method of assigning the scales of the B sound in the cents system, c) with the analysis of byzantine chants through the liturgical repertoire of Byzantine music.
The ultimate goal based on these, is to give a detailed view around the deuteros echos, while showing the way and methodology for further development and research of the issue.
