Abstract
Orestis Maurikios Lourides was born in Constantinople on May 27, 1907 to a noble family of Athanasios and Ariadne Lourides. In 1923, Orestis Lourides, having now revealed his rich intellectual gifts, graduated with honors from the Greek-French Lyceum of Hatzichristou and in 1929 received the Degree of the Dental School of the University of Athens. Archpriest Father Georgios Metallinos was born on March 11, 1940 in Corfu. He was an Orthodox priest, emeritus professor of theology and author of over 40 theological books. From 1964 to 1967 he studied classical philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens from where he received degrees in theology and philology. The audio-visual material regarding the life, the work, the course and the actions of the dean of the EKPA Fr. Georgios Metallinos is to a very large extent satisfactory and sufficient, due to the variety of knowledge that he possessed but also the experiences he has acquired over the years. Orestis Athanasios Louridis founded a non-profit foundation called "LOURIDEIO HYDRIMA - MEMORIES OF THE CITY". The purpose of the institution is the study of Byzantine culture in general and especially of public and private life during the last centuries of the Hellenism of Constantinople, in order to preserve in the memory of posterity the traditions, manners and customs and all kinds of cultural achievements thereof.
