Abstract
This undergraduate thesis explores the use of kinetic typography in Lyric videos,
focusing on the creation process and its significance in enhancing the aesthetic
representation of music. I have chosen a song with social content reflect and highlight
issues and problems concerning society and the human experience. Through the
examination of techniques and tools employed, it seeks to understand how kinetic
typography enriches the viewers' aesthetic experience and emotional perception.
Furthermore, it provides practical recommendations for improving technical skills and
developing innovative strategies in the field of audiovisual music presentation. For
my bachelor's thesis, I have chosen to delve into the creation of a Lyric video with
kinetic typography, which constitutes a creative process where the lyrics of a song are
dynamically presented through moving graphics and effects. This process involves
selecting suitable fonts, colors, motions, images, and graphics that highlight the
atmosphere and meaning of the song. It is, therefore, a graphic and audiovisual
endeavor. The purpose of my thesis is to explore the process of creating a lyric video
with kinetic typography and to highlight the potential of this technique in the field of
audiovisual presentation of musical material. The main research question focuses on
how kinetic typography can enhance the interpretation and aesthetics of a song
through a lyric video, as well as the tools and techniques used in creating such works.
For its implementation, I primarily utilized Adobe After Effects, adjusting the lyrics to
the piece, synchronizing graphics and images with the sound. Additionally, I used
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for graphic creation and image processing, as well as
Adobe Premiere for video editing, to complete my thesis.
