The present study aims to introduce primary school students to Greek and Cypriot traditional music through modern music pedagogical approaches. It is a qualitative research study which was conducted in a primary school in the city of Corfu. It involved the students of the sixth grade of the primary school where in total there were 21 students, namely 8 boys and 13 girls. A total of 12 lessons were held from February to April 2023. Data collection was carried out with the help of the researcher's personal diaries where she took notes after the end of each lesson, recordings of the lessons, informal discussions with the students at group level as they emerged through the lessons and through the World Café method. Traditional music comes alive and becomes one with the modern age through music composition with the help of technology, the combination with body percussion and the writing of an original story based on the students’ personal ideas. The thematic analysis of the research data collected identified the difficulties and challenges faced by a music teacher, the music skills and knowledge of the students as well as their habits and behaviors, the challenges of music technology and the music tradition today.
