Abstract
The thesis consists of two main parts: the translation of a part of a poetry collection by Alexandra Epitheti and the commentary, which analyzes both the type of poetry in the original work and the translational challenges encountered during the process. Beyond the translation process itself, this thesis aims to present the spoken word poetry technique, which is directly associated with the author of the original work, as well as the influence this new poetic movement has had on the Greek audience.
Its content includes a brief overview of the movement's history, an introduction to the group to which Epitheti belongs, and her biography. It also provides an analysis of Greek hip-hop culture and music, highlighting its distinction from oral poetry. Furthermore, various sections include information from an interview conducted with the poet herself by the author of the thesis, along with reflections on the direct communication between the translator and the original author.
