Abstract
This thesis examines the enhancement of the archaeological site of
Ancient Europos, a location of considerable historical importance in
Macedonia. Europos, known primarily for its necropolis, includes tombs
and unique artifacts that reflect ancient burial practices and the region's
cultural wealth. Efforts to promote archaeological sites like Europos often
face challenges due to funding constraints. However, specific methods
are implemented to protect and promote cultural heritage. The thesis
analyzes the ways in which the excavated finds and infrastructure of
Europos are preserved, showcased, and highlighted, aiming to safeguard
their timeless value for the public. Furthermore, the thesis suggests
improvements in site accessibility and public engagement by proposing
public archaeology initiatives and educational programs. Integrating the
local community and developing experiential interactions are key aspects
of the site’s enhancement strategy, striving to balance the protection of
the area with public access to its cultural heritage.
