Abstract
The text “Alzheimer Disease” by Rudy J. Castellani, Raj K. Rolston και Mark A. Smith describes the Alzheimer Disease, a chronic neurodegenerative disease with two-fold age of onset. Specifically, this text provides information about the age groups affected by the disease, the pathological, biological and genetic factors and underlies the role not only of amyloid plaques but also of oxidative stress and protein tau in disease progression. The authors also examine the causes of Alzheimer disease, the potential methods of treatment and the future treatment strategies.
The contents of this paper are a short introduction, the original text, the translated text, a commentary concerning the difficulties and the challenges, the references that we consulted for our commentary as well as an appendix of the glossary.
