Abstract
Nowadays, mobile devices are considered to be a powerful and portable tool for assisting people in dealing with daily life issues. In this diploma thesis, a mobile-based application is described in order to promote Corfu’s Old town cultural heritage. Within this frame, the application design phase, data and material collection, and processing as well as the programming phase is described in details. The main topic of this mobile application addresses towards heritage cultural promotion and especially to Sternes of Corfu. This application could be both be used for visitors interested in Corfu Island cultural heritage or for educational training within the role of mobile technology in education in general. This application is available for installation in Android operating system devices, while a pilot test is ongoing in order to enhance the application reliability and usability.
