Abstract
This dissertation is dedicated to subtitling the TEDx Talk “How to Deal with Difficult People” from English to Greek. The choice of this TEDx talk was made based on my interest in the topic of mental health and how it is affected by our relationships with other people. The dissertation refers to the translation process, the technical and translation challenges that occur, and the solutions chosen to resolve them. Examples include technical strategies, attributing meaning methods, and ways of bridging cultural differences. Lastly, using examples from the TEDx Talk is crucial in attempting to address and resolve the challenges.
