Abstract
Subtitling is a form of audiovisual translation which has only lately received
extensive attention by researchers. In Greece, there have been relatively few
studies which focus on the best practices and subtitling strategies. The aim of
the present dissertation is to function as a reference for “subtitling” and, more
specifically, for the subtitling of science-fiction films in Greek. This desire
stems in part from the fact that Greece has a long tradition in subtitling.
