Abstract
In this thesis, the archive of the notary and priest Antonio Vassila is studied. Specifically, the registry B65, which includes 166 notarial acts, is examined. His archive appears to be a significant archival document for the history of Venetian rule in Corfu. The purpose of this essay is to present to the reader the content of the archive , prominence historical value. Furthermore, to apply archival description standards to the material, emphasizing the necessity of their use. For the recording, both of them the International Standard for Archival Description (ISAD-G) and the metadata schemas Encoded Archival Description (EAD) were used. Through the study, these tools are feature to help facilitate and enhance the protection and accessibility of the material for both researchers and the general public. Additionally, the importance of archival description for the preservation and utilization of cultural heritage is emphasized. The significance, of notaries and their documents is also evaluated. Finally, the state of the economy during that period is examined.
