Abstract
The following project evaluates the concept of bullying within the school community as it is experienced by both students and teachers. The text discusses whether music videos can be used as teaching tools in secondary education. Particularly, this project analyses how music videos can tackle/combat school bullying as an issue, by raising awareness. In order to illustrate/examine said goal, a two-part study/research was contacted. Firstly, teachers of secondary education were interviewed in relation to the issue. The second part consisted of a series of music lessons for students finishing the first half of secondary education in the Greek educational system. The teachers’ interviews reveal their personal experiences and encounters with said issue, while also offering opinions on school bullying in general and the ways to reduce different types of violence. The underlying purpose of this essay is to expose the benefits of using music videos as educational means since they have the ability to promote freedom of speech and emotional expression in the classroom and therefore contribute in the elimination of school bulling.
