Abstract
The increasing digitalisation in our digitally-driven world has given the opportunity to false information to infiltrate and become one of the most challenging issues in political communication and journalistic discourse worldwide. The internet is a remarkable source of information and intelligence. However, not all (the) content found on the internet can be reliable. False information usually concerns any piece of article or video content that contains unreliable information, all the while presenting it as a reliable source.
In addition, according to recent studies/researches that highlight/emphasize the relationship between the validation of false information and bullying we come to the conclusion that false information is often used as a mean of online intimidation aimed to degrade certain individuals or groups. Cyber-bullying is a type of bullying that happens online through the use of many social media platforms in order to cause pain, anxiety and other negative feelings/effects on victims. This may /can include threats, online harassment, malicious behaviours through the publication/misuse of personal and private information of the victim such as photographs and any other type of psychological or social violence.
