Abstract
In the present thesis, first, I tried to trace the motives of Righas Velestinlis regarding his choice to translate six novels from the work of Rétif de La Bretonne Les Contemporaines ou aventures des plus jolies femmes de l'âge present, to which he gave the title School of delicate lovers and then I selected two of those six novels. "The New Pygmalion" and "The Eclipse of Honor because of Love" in order to carry out a comparative translational study exploring the decisions he took as a translator. Based on the Polysystem Theory, we justified the liberties he took, drawing some examples from his translation.
