Abstract
This paper is a translation of an English financial text presenting bonds and municipal bonds issued in the United States of America (USA), aimed at laymen about bonds. More specifically, the article analyses in a concise and analytical manner, using examples, the bond system and how the general public can invest in bonds issued by state and local governments, as well as the federal government, for profit. Investors in search of higher yields and lower taxes resort to the bond market. This guide therefore offers valuable information for those interested in investing in these financial products. Although the target public, in this case the Greek public, is different from that of the USA, the author of the article gives some basic advice that applies to both cultures. The paper consists of the following chapters: first, the translation of the text is presented, as well as the Text-Source (TS), followed by the commentary, which includes the commentary of the translation mandate, the analysis of the TS and the resolution of translation problems. We then draw conclusions on the financial products mentioned. Finally, the appendix, which in our case is a glossary, is attached.
