Abstract
The object of this thesis is a short film animation with the use of three-dimensional graphics and visual effects. The film is a story of psychological content taking place in abstract and surreal environments. More specifically, the story follows a black mannequin, which represents the main character, while he travels inside his unconscious mind. The action develops without dialogue, with emphasis on the chaotic nature of the unconscious and climaxes with the symbolic death of the mannequin.
We begin with a Rorschach test, where with each image the unconscious awakens more and more and with it, the black mannequin. In a dream-like state, the mannequin starts a search. In the beginning, he is in a bizarre city with white mannequins, which symbolizes his view of society and the people in it. Next, he enters a door that leads inside this city, where the city tries to bring him in line. After he escapes, he is a passenger in a train that leads deeper in his imagination. The next destination is a barren landscape where he sees other lost and disfigured mannequins like himself. While crossing this landscape, he will find a giant mirror, suggesting that the last destination is inside him. The end comes with the realization that the black mannequin is nothing but a husk and it
is not his real self.
