Abstract
This BA dissertation deals with the translation of a scientific text from English to Greek, as well as the commentary of the translation process. The article to be translated, titled "Controversies in Persistent (Chronic) Lyme Disease", not only provides information about Lyme disease, the most common vector-borne disease in the US, but also discusses the controversies in the medical community regarding "Chronic Lyme disease", i.e. the persistence of Lyme disease symptoms for weeks, months, to years after treatment. The paper begins with a short introduction, after which the Greek translation is presented, followed by the original text. Next comes the commentary on the translation process, divided into subsections, while the paper concludes with the epilogue, the bibliographical references and lastly the glossary of terms.
