Abstract
This thesis seeks to explore the narrative elements of illustrated fairy tales and the potential enhancements that modern digital technologies can bring to them. The ultimate goal is to introduce innovative storytelling techniques that could lead to the evolution of printed illustrated fairy tales within the context of future digital realities.
Augmented Reality (AR) has been selected as the primary technology for revitalizing the reading experience of fairy tales. The rationale behind this choice lies in AR's unique ability to integrate real-world space and time with the projection of digital elements, thereby enriching the reader's existing environment.
Upon concluding the research in the relevant areas of interest, the findings will inform the creation and completion of a printed illustrated fairy tale that incorporates augmented reality elements into its narrative.
