Abstract
Environmental Education is now an institutionalized tool for dealing with environmental problems on a global scale. Its subject matter is interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary and concerns education around the environment, education within the environment and education for the environment.
Regarding Environmental Education and Special Education, the existing literature states that the two variables are directly related. The application of Environmental Education in Special Education contributes positively to the cognitive, emotional and social development of children with disabilities, acting constructively in their school performance, in their behavior, inside and outside school and in general in their all-round development.
The purpose of this postgraduate diploma research is to present the connection of Environmental Education with Special Education and the creation of environmental material with inclusive education activities for preschool children with blindness and deafness, with the aim of environmental awareness for the protection of the sea and endangered species of Mediterranean species as well as the evaluation of this by Special Education teachers of Primary Education
The conclusions are that although teachers consider Environmental Education beneficial for students with special educational needs and believe that they can support its teaching, they apply it little or not at all. For the Environmental Material Handbook, the high percentages of evaluations reflect the positive sign of this undertaking in terms of content and achievement of objectives. For the suitability for children with visual impairments it was judged to be very adequate but equally suitable for children with hearing impairments.
