Abstract
Anthill OS is a distributed multitasking operating system for the resource-limited devices used in the Internet of Things. It aims to provide simple and familiar use, interoperability with existing systems and efficient use of the hardware. Process communication, both local and remote, is achieved via a modified version of the 9P file system protocol. This thesis presents its architecture and implementation for the Raspberry Pi on the QEMU virtualisation software.
