Abstract
The idea of the symbol as representation or expression refers to the universe of symbols where man lives in a world full of significations, allusions and references and in a nature that constantly speaks in a heraldic idiom where the partial element represents the whole as a living and momentary revelation of unfathomable or a higher truth.
The cross is the ultimate symbol of Christianity, traditionally interpreted as a representation of Christ's sacrifice. Ιt is the symbol of our faith, it symbolizes sacrifice and foreshadows the Resurrection, it is ubiquitous as an element in religious practice, religious architecture and everyday life of Christians, it is the scale, it is the means, it is the A and Z.
The position of the cross has a long and complex historical continuity and especially in the Orthodox Church. It is an expression of the Christian faith and is enshrined as an important symbol of liturgical life and church tradition.
Through Christian art, an art in the essence of the sacred, where nothing happens by chance, the Christian faith is also expressed, where the cross plays an important role and through this symbol the tradition of church is preserved and the dogmatic teaching of the Church is confirmed.
Within these contexts and in the light of the management of sacred objects of Orthodox ecclesiastical art that contain their own historical and aesthetic value and uniqueness, the preservation of the two consecration crosses took place.
