Abstract
In recent years it has been strongly observed that the position of women in modern
society is changing both in Greece and in Germany. Nevertheless, gender equality is
one of the most pressing issues of current affairs, as the turn of events comes slowly
and encounters several obstacles. Women continue to face prejudice, inequalities and
discrimination at personal, economic, professional and political levels. This proves that
the road to real equality is a long one. Through the thesis, political speeches will be
analyzed in order to find out the modes of persuasion of the Critical Discourse Analysis
and to compare the results of the two countries.
