Abstract
This thesis was written in accordance with the instructions of the Department of Foreign
Languages, Translation and Interpreting of the Ionian University and is the culmination
of my four years of study. The purpose of this is to present the knowledge, experiences
and abilities that I have acquired throughout my translation training. Specifically, my
thesis concerns the interlingual subtitling of the short film Second Best, as well as the
commentary on the subtitling process. The source language is English and the target
language is Greek. I chose the field of subtitling, as I find the process of it particularly
interesting. Due to the combination of image, sound and dialogue, many stimuli are
created, which makes the process even more special.
