Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is the study, analysis and the categorization
of the most important methods which generate random numbers. A
definition of randomness, a historical flashback and the categories of basic
random generators were presented in the first part. Next there is an analysis
about the properties and characteristics of the most know pseudorandom
number generators. In addition, the algorithm Mersenne Twister and the
way the most famous generator MT19937 is made were presented. In the
end, this thesis includes the design and the implementation of the a slot
machine application together with the implementation of MT19937
generator.
