Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the personal experience of participants in an inclusive music theater group. Qualitative research was conducted with children and adult participants, and a sample of students from various primary schools at an island of Dodecanese and from the Special Education School (E.E.E.E.K.). The partnership was also strengthened by an open call for participation in the community. Weekly meetings were held after consultation with the participants and parents in a suitable school space and in the theater of the participants’ place where they live. The research data were collected through individual and group interviews with the contributors, the personal research journal , the individual questionnaires given to the participants, and the focus groups with the team. Through thematic analysis, eight categories emerged that captured the experience of the participants. From the analysis, the importance of inclusive music theater in the community became apparent, as well as the expansion of understanding and acceptance of diversity, and by extension in its integration in the daily life of the participants at a personal, spiritual, and social level.
