Abstract
The rapid development of technology and social media has enabled users to produce content themselves and at the same time connect with each other in various ways. This process plays a particularly important role in teachers' environments, as it creates conditions for self-learning and mutual support. This research aims to explore the experience of music teachers who choose to create material online and share it freely, as well as the motivations that drive them to do so. After searching social media (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) a feasibility sample of seven music teachers was selected. The material they post was studied and analysed and they were interviewed, focusing on their perspective of the process. The findings led to conclusions about the daily collection of ideas and resources for developing their themes, either from everyday life or from the internet, and highlighted lack of time as a key inhibitor of engagement. Their reports of their subjective experience covered a wide range of emotions, both in relation to personal satisfaction and a sense of self-fulfilment, as well as a desire to help the community and contribute to the modernisation and improvement of the profession. At the same time, they are driven by motivations, both internal and external, from pure intentions and an urge to give back to the community, to personal, self-driven needs for organization and validation, an interest in furthering communication, and personal recognition.
