Abstract
With the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the winter of 2019, it was deemed necessary to close all educational institutions in the country. Teachers and music teachers tried to keep in touch with their students by conducting their lessons remotely. The first part of the following text consists of an analysis of the literature on the pandemic period and how it affected music education, choirs and adolescents. The second part consists of the research, in which semi-structured interviews were conducted with twelve teenage choirs from three different choirs in Greece. The aim of the study was to capture how the teenagers experienced and evaluated online rehearsals during the pandemic period. From the thematic analysis, categories emerged concerning the skills and the way of introduction to the choir, the differences between face-to-face and distance choir, the evaluation of the online rehearsals from the adolescents' point of view, the weaknesses and difficulties they faced in this situation, the technological parameters and how they evaluated them, as well as the role their parents and friends played in their participation in the online rehearsal. In conclusion, it appeared that remote choral rehearsals had a positive impact on adolescents' psychology and music education. They kept the choral group together and despite all the difficulties encountered, the teens ultimately benefited. All of the teens preferred online rehearsals to having no contact with the choir at all.
