Abstract
Data sonification can facilitate scientific research by offering a different way of visualization. Moreover, in contemporary digital arts the research of data sonification leads to artistic achievements. Thus, through the sonification of electron microscope image data and through the Matlab programming language a sonic work is achieved based on the complexity of the nanostructured surface of materials. The mathematical modeling of nanostructures gives way to music modeling and nanostructures characterisation. The selection of a part of the image as light motif and its search within the image, having previously matched notes, compose the music from the nanoworld, which apart from acoustic information and scientific conclusions about complexity is also an artistic- sound work
