Abstract
This dissertation approaches the drug issue and the influence of music through an educational musical implementation. The drug issue about students during adolescence has caused the need for further research, related to the reduction of substance use. So much the psychology of the students as music seems to be of major importance for the adolescents’ lives. Furthermore, specific types of music like rap and rock had accused that it’s possible to lead people to drug use. There is special meaning in the lyrics in these kind of songs with related thematology, because they often include inappropriate vocabulary. The first part of the research develops all the previous and finishes with prevention programs at schools with main focus in music. In the specific dissertation the drug issue and the influence of music is approached through an educational musical implementation. At the specific implementation, students through questionnaires referred to drug issue of adolescents from their point of view. More specific, they delved into the issue talking about the reasons that lead youth to drug use, physical and mental consequences and the ramifications in an interpersonal level. Moreover, investigating the adolescents’ opinion, related with the degree that music can influence the youth at the drug use, the students’ perspective about addiction and its treatment is mentioned. Also, this dissertation anatomizes what adolescents think about how much music can influence the youth to drug use. They supported that specific types of music are more possible to lead someone to toxic drug use. Furthermore, the youth’s point of view related to the influence of music in drug use and of their immediate people is investigated. Thus, the thoughts of adolescents in songs with related thematology and the visual depiction of their thoughts that arise from listening to these kind of songs.
