Abstract
This Capstone Project aims to create a news portal where its content relates to the COVID-19 pandemic and is addressed to two audiences. The first audience concerns tourists who intend to travel to Greece and the second audience concerns tourism professionals. There is also mention of the importance of the tourism industry to Greek economy, as well as how much it has been affected by the pandemic. In the course of the work, research data carried out by the Department of Tourism of the Ionian University were used in order to highlight the need that have arisen for the creation of a portal. The data was processed using the PSPP open-source statistical analysis program, while CMS WordPress was used to develop the portal. The results of the statistical analysis and the development of the portal with proposals for future extensions are presented in detail.
