Abstract
In this thesis I present my observations, my notes, the plans and the educational material created as well as my conclusions and my reflection during my six-month placement. The practical exercise was carried out in a Primary School in Macedonia, in two classes, a First Grade Class (1st) and a Fifth Grade Class (5th). The aim was for the students to love the music lesson, to learn about music in a pleasant and entertaining way through activities designed to stimulate their attention, to increase their creativity, teamwork and cultivate aesthetic enjoyment. For designing those activities I used school musical instruments, self-made instruments we made with the children from scratch, school equipment as well as my own, various physical objects, but also technology, all under the scope of game-activity planning Schedules. I tried to implement experiential teaching methods and active learning through formal and informal teaching. During this six-month practical teaching, I was not limited to only class hours, but with the 1st grade Class we also gave two performances/presentations. So during this period of time that I completed my diploma thesis at this School, I was able to gain useful experiences not only for teaching music to elementary school students, but also in other parallel responsibilities and obligations that a teacher has.
