Abstract
This dissertation consists the description and analysis of the sound installation Athens 2.0. It is an installation that focuses on listening to fragmentary, everyday soundscapes of the city of Athens. The computer, with the mediation of the audience, selects in a random way the reproduction of sound files, the processing of sounds as well as the sound trajectories in space. The methodology of data analysis is based on a classification of three stages of implementation of the sound installation. Finally, the dissertation explores the ways of listening using sound technologies, which place sounds in space, as well as the aesthetic experience of the audience through hearing.
